Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

The College Critic (the "Service") is operated by Alunox LLC ("we", "us"). By using the Service you are entering into an agreement with Alunox LLC.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. The Service

The College Critic uses artificial intelligence to grade college supplemental essays and suggest improvements. It gives feedback on your own writing; it does not write essays for you. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.

4. Your account

Keep your login details confidential and your information accurate. You are responsible for activity under your account.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service, including:

6. AI output and your content

You are responsible for the essays and prompts you submit, for having the rights to them, and for how you use the feedback. You keep ownership of your essays. You grant us a limited licence to host and process them solely to provide the Service. AI feedback may be inaccurate or incomplete and is not a guarantee of any admissions outcome; use your own judgement. We may remove content, refuse or filter outputs, or restrict accounts that violate these Terms. Rights holders who believe content infringes their rights can contact us to request removal; repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

7. Intellectual property

Alunox LLC owns the Service, including its software, grading system, documentation, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your plan.

8. Payments and subscriptions

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, renewal, tax, cancellation, and refund terms are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled; cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the paid month. See our Refund Policy.

9. Service availability

We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without implied warranties.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Alunox LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the Service at any time. When your account ends, your saved gradings may be deleted.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
